My husband has been put to the test. More planters, gates and closed in areas to provide more edibles and fragrant flowers for our home. Most of the property can handle the deer resistant plants but I need to be able ro secure the lives of the plants I have pampered from germination to planter life. The fenced in area is only about 800 square feet, although the whole property is one acre. The low soil level and protruding rocks does add to lovely displays of assorted mosses, evergreens and shrubs. In these areas I add daffodils, Hellebores and daisies in between the existed sword ferns where I have added soil to the crevices.

These edible flowers and herbs are great outside the kitchen door.
